Understanding Church

+ + +

Where Do You Get the Idea That the Church Is God’s Body?

From the Bible. For instance:

“…we should live soberly… looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ…” (Titus 2:12c, 13 PDRC, any brackets & highlighting added in scriptural quotes)

So Jesus is God. Yet the Bible also says:

“Which he wrought [worked] in Christ and has made him head over the church, which is his body, and the fullness of him who is filled all in all.” (Ephesians 1:20a, 22b-23 PDRC)

It’s that simple. Christ is God, and the Church is His Body --- whether you look at these or similar verses, the truth is easy to see.
