Where Does the Bible Say You Can’t Be Saved Without the Church?

If you’ve read the five Straight & Simple pages right before this one, then you’ve already seen where the Bible says it. But the Bible also says:

“And then that wicked one shall be revealed… according to the working of Satan… and in all seduction of iniquity [attractiveness of sin] to them that perish  [die forever]; because they receive not [won’t accept] the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8a, 9a, 10a-b PDRC, any brackets or highlighting added in scriptural quotes)

Yet where do we get this “truth” that we’re supposed to “love” so that we can “be saved” and not “perish”? The Bible tells us:

“These things I write to you… that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:14a, 15b-e PDRC)

A pillar and the ground hold up everything on top of them, keeping it from crashing into smithereens. That means we have to get The Truth That Saves (2 Thessalonians 2:10) --- which we’re supposed to love if we don’t want to die forever and which is supported by “the house of God” (1 Timothy 3:15) ---from Christ’s Body, His Church!
